    The Alhambra Theatre
The Alhambra theatre was built by Frank Laidler in 1913 on a former waste site and opened in 1914 just before World War I. It became a Grade II listed building in 1974 and following a extensive refurbishment, which the theatre reopened in 1986. The Alhambra has been known traditionally for its pantomimes and variety shows and today seats around 1450. It hosts big touring productions including West End Musicals. Over the years, I saw 'Cats', 'The Phantom of the Opera', 'Miss Saigon' and many other productions including opera and ballet. The theatre has a pleasant restaurant, Restaurant 1914, and also coffee/deli lounge and bars.

    The Studio
Adjacent to the Alhambra Theatre there is The Studio which offers flexible space for theatre (seats up to 200) and various events. The venue is very pleasant there when I had seen a concert there in May 2011.

    St George's Hall
St George's Hall is a concert venue and has 1500 seats. The venue hosts a variety of events including classical concerts where Halle is the resident orchestra along with stand up comedians and variety and children shows.

Emma and I went to the Ginger Goose to see "Definitley mightbe" A Oasis and Paul Weller tribute band. The entrance was free and the pub was packed. It was a very good night and I will look out for more events held there.

    Exchange: Another rock bar

Since the Empress closed down this pub has tried to take over the rock and metal pub bit but to be honest I prefer the Market Tavern. Cheap drinks and busy on Friday/ Saturday nights. Sometimes hosts some bands but very crowded! Its kind of in a cellar so not much light but hey rock pubs meant to be dark lol

    Market Tavern: dodgy rock pub

no food served here! The pub is above the Kirkgate centre next to WH Smiths and caters for the general rock and metal sorts. Screening a range of cult DVDs that you can never hear, rock music and on some nights DJS, the Tav also hosts bands in its downstairs room. Cheap for drinks, also offers discounted entry to Bradford Rios.

This is the best thing about Bradford and host live bands as well as club nights through the week, Cheap entry and good music. Drinks are reasonable, however you might need to join to get in OR get a member to sign you in. Cloak rooms £1 however the toilets need help! There are 2 dance floors catering for goth, metal, ska, punk music on Fridays, Old Metal on Saturdays, Student night on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Opens at 10-11pm if there is not a band, but doesnt get going till Midnight normally.

Dress Code: Rock club so do not dress up.
