The people of Leeds are very proud of their two major teams, Leeds United and Leeds Rhino's.
Leeds united were founded in 1919 after the disbandment of Leeds City.
The glory years for Leeds United were in the 1960’s and 1970’s when they won the first division twice (1968-69 and 1973-74), F.A cup (1972 1-0 v Arsenal ), the league cup (1968 ), inter-cities fairs cup twice(1968 and 1971) and a number of second places, runners up in the league 5 times, losing finalists in the F.A. cup 3 times, runners up in the fairs cup and runner up in the European cup winners cup losing 1-0 to AC Milan.
Today Leeds are treading water in the championship league, they will continue to do this if they are lucky whilst Ken Bates is the chairman.
Equipment: The football season runs from August until April/May
Tickets are sometimes hard to get as even though Leeds are only in the Championship league and online survey put them as one of the top ten supported teams in England.
This seasonal event opens every winter in the City Centre where people have an opportunity to ice skate and also enjoy snow slide and simulator rides. There is also a cafe at the rink. Please check out the IceCube2012 or Leeds City Council websites for further information. You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org .
Icecube is opened from 27th January to 26th February 2012!
It cost 7.00 gbp (January 2012) per adult to skate for an hour including skate hire and additional charge for the other attractions at the IceCube 2012.
I don't ice skate so you won't see me on the rink at any time LOL!!! But do recommend it if you like ice skating as it looks like a lot of fun!
Equipment: Ice skates and helmets are available for hire.
League Play In
Equipment: To watch the match the only equipment you really need is a good strong voice to sing your club`s songs and encourage the team and your eyes to actually watch the game, some people do take a pair of binoculars if they sit far from the pitch.
Apart from the above the club s encourage you to buy their merchandise to enhance your matchday experience, you can buy virtually anything from hats and scarfs to the full blown replica kit, which generally is updated annually.
Don't miss out if you get the chance to watch Leeds United play a home-game. The tension is high and right now, the tickets are affordable due to failing results :) We got to have seats right behind Dennis Wise's coaching box. This is pretty much a white-snip-area, even though I showed up in a home-shirt :) PS: The picture is taken before the match:p
It can be a bit tricky to get a cab for the ride back to the city after the game, but don't worry - there's both a McDonald's restaurant and a pub close by in case it rains.
Equipment: Bring good mood and a betting slip that says HOME WIN.
Xscape, an indoor winter sports facility and leisure complex offers the chance to do all sorts of extreme sports. There is:

Football is the countries main sport and at the time of writing Leeds United are playing in the best division in the football league. The atmosphere here is second to none. Can be quite expensive though tickets range from 15 pound up to 40.
