The houses in the close date from the 13th to the 20th century. They were originally built to house the senior clergy but now there are only 5 members of the chapter resident. Most are now private residences but there are a few that are open to the public.

Train is the best way to explore area and the city is on the direct line from London’s Waterloo (1 hour 25 min.). Before arrival to the U.K, we bought BritRail Days Out of London Passes. Of course the usual ways: Bus, car or train. I'd recomend train since the station is pretty well located.
