BB`s Coffee and Muffins: 2 Large Flat Whites Please

    by DUNK67 Updated Jan 3, 2010

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

BB`s is a small cafe /coffee house in the middle of a reasonably busy town centre shopping centre so the queues can be quite large at times.

The seating area is dived into two parts either side of the serving area.
The smoking area is to the right of the serving area and has a fairly low ceiling so the lighting is a bit subdued.
The non-smoking area is to the left and is a bit more open plan with no distinct line between it and the rest of the shopping centre, it is also right next to the toilets so isn`t the best of places to sit. It is quite bright there as it has a high glass roof and it is also next to the large glass exit doors.

Along with the usual hot drinks of coffee, tea and chocolate you can buy various cold drinks from cola to slushes and milkshakes.

There is a large variety to eat, including muffins, baguettes and melts. My favourite muffin has to be the iced, it has white icing and either smarties or jelly tots on top of it. The melts are also quite nice , they are made out of foccacia bread with various fillings and then grilled.

All in all BB`s is a nice place to go and relax with a cup of coffee and watch the world go by.

BB's is now shut but may reopen in the future.

Favorite Dish: My favourite "dish" has to be my staple diet of Flat White coffee, I normally have a large one which is very big but you can also get a medium and small size. They are made of roughly half coffee and half warm frothy milk and cost £2.00 each. Small Flat Whites cost £1.60 each.

    Cooks: Cooks

    by DUNK67 Updated Nov 3, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

As off August 2005 Cooks has closed, I will still leave the tip up though as a reminder of what it was like.

Three Cooks Bakery and Cafe has been recently renamed Cooks but the shop is still waiting for a refurbishment to update the sign although the uniform, bags and posters have been changed.

The front part of the shop is the take away section selling savory items, cakes ,soft drinks, bread, sandwiches and baguettes.

At the rear of the shop is the cafe part where you can sit down and have anything from a breakfast to pies and psties with chips or jacket potatoes.

There is a smoking area at the rear.
A word of warning though the toilet is upstairs, so if you have walking difficulties you will have a bit of a problem.

Cooks is now closed and is yet another phone shop.

Favorite Dish: My favourite dish is the breakfast of hash browns, bacon, egg, fried bread and sausage or a bacon sandwich.

    Snackers: Snackers

    by DUNK67 Updated Jan 12, 2005

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Snackers is a sandwich shop/cafe. Their speciality is the baguette. Prices vary on size, either medium or large. The medium is about 30cm long with whatever ingredients you want.

The original owners have now sold but Snackers still exists but I`m not sure what it is like now.

Favorite Dish: They sell the best baguettes I have ever had, everyone is made in the shop using whatever fillings you want. My favourites are Tuna and Sweetcorn, Egg and Mayonaise, Chicken and Coleslaw and Egg and Bacon all made on crusty baguettes and now there is a new flavour made with cheeses, herbs and mayonaisse.

Marcos Pizza is Turkish run and make the best pizzas in town. You can choose from pizzas and kebabs to the more traditional fish and chips here.

At the weekend they are open until about 3am.

Favorite Dish: Hawaian Pizza is my favourite thing here, a nice blend of ham and pineapple on a crispy pizza base.
