When I was younger I was in the Boy Scouts, we used to have a lot of camps and one of the places we went to on a regular occasion was at Hinton On The Green. We used to have a great time amongst the orchards building camp fires, learning camping skills, climbing trees amongst other things.
There was also what seemed to be like a small river which I remember canoeing on but when I went back several years to go fishing the river resembled a small trickle, totally unfit for fishing. Either I remembered wrongly or the river had been drained.
All in all they were great memories of Hinton On The Green.
