The actual nitty gritty of beer making can be a bit tedious, but at this local brewery it is made more interesting to find out what famous name stuff is actually brewed there.
The best bit is the chance to sample the wares after the tour and have a chat with the knowledgeable barman about the different beers.
We parked in the Tesco car-park as it was big and open and free! An artfully placed Tesco carrier bag on the back-seat of your car always means the parking guy leaves you alone.... make sure you have something in it though!

The ten acres at Mount Ephraim have a wonderful atmosphere of peace and charm and it is a pleasant place to visit if you want quiet. The gardens are set in the middle of an estate owned by The Dawes family who have lived here for 300 years.
In the summer they hold outdoor concerts and plays.
There is a gift shop selling local crafts and there is a good tea room serving home made cream teas and light snacks at reasonable prices.
There are topiary gardens, a Japanese style water garden, a huge lake, a grass maze and a beautiful rose garden.
Well worth a visit.
I have lived near here for 23 years and this is the first time I have visited, but, it won't be the last.
Opening times: Wed, Thurs, Sat and Sun from Easter to the end of Sepember. 1pm till 5pm

The only thing that I actually ever saw of Faversham was the train station and the church which was right on the other side of the tracks across a bridge.
We desperately needed a place to sleep-didn't have any money-and a nice man pointed us in the direction of the church. -And it was a nice place. So we sat our backpacks against the wall, sat down on the grass and went to sleep. It was our first night in England and it did seem a bit weird, but next morning we were greeted by cheery English people coming back from the baker's. It was a very nice way to begin the UK adventure!
