    Northern Train

Great Ayton has an unstaffed station on the Middlesbrough to Whitby line but there are only 5 trains each day along the line and you do need to plan your rail journey to Great Ayton carefully.
The station has several car parking spaces and is step free so suitable for wheelchairs and all trains on the line have disabled access.
The station however is some distance from the village - about a 10 to 15 minute walk.
