Speakers Corner

Speaker's Corner, in the North East of Hyde Park near Marble Arch, is an area where anybody can come and talk about any subject they wish.

There are normally several speakers all competing for attention, usually yelling at the tops of their voices.

Literally anything can be debated, though perhaps predictibly religion and politics always seem to take centre stage.

It's quite entertaining to just stroll through the area and see what's being debated.

Peter Pan

The bronze statue of Peter Pan, by the sculptor Sir George Frampton, was placed in Hyde Park in 1912 (apparently in the middle of night to add an air of mystique). The location is exactly where Peter Pan landed in the famous story by JM Barrie.

Deck Chairs

At several sites around Hyde Park you can hire a deck chair.

£1.50 for up to 2 hours, or £2 for 4 hours.

No booking necessary - if you see a spare chair just grab it.

Hyde Park. One of the largest, and one of the most famous parks in Central London. It makes for a pleasant escape from the surrounding busy streets.
