I don't understand if an area can keep it's pub ,why can't it keep it's kirk.?
The restaurant here is thriving , agood selection of locally sourced food but also a nice mix of international dishes catering even for vegans imaginatevely if off the menu.
Also has a seperate games room away from the bar.
IF THE WEATHER IS GOOD the sitooterie has a bbq. courtyard and a nice garden.
Favorite Dish: i had venison steak.

Being rural and poor there was not many coins floating about to pay the ministers stipend so most parishes gave him a glebe ,which like a small croft/market garden/steading was to let him work a bit to feed himself ,family.
The parish since 1492 { need to check this date but either 4 years before columbus discovered america or 4 years after} had to also provide a school, teacher to educate all boys till they were literate, numerate and able to screive , Scotlands far sighted King brought in the world's first compulsory education act, which in two generations brought about reformers like John Knox who demanded all who could read should be able to read the bible freely
Here we are 400 years later celebrating the 400 ,im sur there is a special word for this centenery along with the defender of the faith , in the celebration of our King James Bible in English.
From acorn's great .............
