From Portland Park you get a good view from the top walk over towards the town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. On top of Church Hill in the older part of town you can see the church of St Wilfrids.

Gee, I haven't been here for years.
Well the park is the lungs of the town, a 7 hectare public park with lots of woodland walks, wildlife and designated a site of special scientific interest.
This is where I spent half my childhood. They even have a cafe now! (what is the world coming to?)
Recently spent a pleasant Sunday afternnoon which bought back a few memories....

We are new to Kirkby, but have had bad experiences when trying to book taxis for Sundays.
The only really reliable firm we have found is OASIS taxis.
We have NO CONNECTION with that firm, except as customers.
