The recently opened "Thrums Chipper" in Northmuir, Kirriemuir is already becoming a magnet for the late night reveller wishing to guzzle a feast of deep fried food. ( open till 1 am at weekends)
There is pavement parking directly outside the door ( subject to availability). Also a large car park where you can listen to your car stereo whilst eating your gourmet delights.
Finally, a short trip to the car park at the "Camera Obscura" is in order, where facilities exist for just opening your car window and slinging out your discarded chip paper wrappings.
Favorite Dish: It all smells equally good.

The Drovers Inn in Memus, near Kirriemuir, is about all there is in this hamlet. Never the less, it was full of customers when we arrived after a day in Glen Clova. The food and service was very good, an unexpected luxury away from the city.
In the field adjacent to the parking lot there are a few highland cattle to see.
