Nightlife II

by dr.firas

Picadilly Circus and Oxford street and also Bond Street are the best in my opion at night, not forgetting the London eye sight and Big Ben and Houses of Parliment at night with the special lights as well, and plus the beautiful Harrods lighted at night in a very special way :-)

Various and very very ugly: Kiwi/Aussie/South African bars

by Fleur_D

Steer clear of any and all of these places. Usually they are really ugly, sell awful beer and play awful cock-jock-rock from the Antipodes at embarrassingly loud volumes.Might be easy places for guys to get laid though ;-P Footy clothes. Shapeless T-shirts. Jeans. Trainers. Wide-eyed expression.

The Fridge,Brixton.: Clubbing

by Fleur_D

This had - and recent reports suggest still has - a lot of very good club nights, both mixed and straight.Worth checking out - but make sure you have the night/music type you intend beforehand. Depends on the night. Probably trendy to grungey.

Leicester Square: LONDON

by keeweechic

Leicester Square is the entertainment centre right in the heart of London. It is close to Piccadilly Circus, Chinatown and the famous Shaftsbury Avenue. It is one of the busiest areas of the City, usually crowded and complete with many street entertainers day and night. There are trendy cafes around the square

Tip Photo
NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE

by keeweechic

Newcastle is fairly well known for its large and varied selection of bars and clubs. In the city centre alone there are more than enough bars to go around and all handy to each other (for pub crawls). The clubs in Newcastle are spread around the city centre and Quayside.

Tip Photo
There are always plenty of pubs

by keeweechic

There are plenty of pubs everywhere in the UK. I visited a lot of them while there - whether it was for lunch, dinner or just a drink with the 'natives'. They are so great (compared to the Aussie/kiwi pubs). They are old, cosy and have real atmosphere (well the majority anyway). There are also plenty of disco’s, theatres or whatever takes your fancy.

PUBS-PUBS-PUBS

by feline01

Spend your nights experiencing the 'local', whatever local public house is nearby. Have a few pints or just a coffee if you don't drink. Pubs often have theme nights, possibly karoake, trivia etc. while some pubs cater to a certain clientele, whether sports-fans, literary crowd etc. If you feel uncomfortable when entering a pub, just leave and find another one-it's not too difficult in the UK.This is the Comedy Pub located at 7 Oxenden Street, SW1, near Leicester Square (Oxenden St runs parallel to Haymarket). Decent central-London pub with good ale. I spent many nights after work in this pub just soaking in the local culture (and a LOT of alcohol!)

The Red Lion: London Pubs

by Elmsaafir

After a long day of wandering around, one tends to get thirsty. The Red Lion is a good place to sit and drink some of the weariness away. Try the Adnams, Tetley, or Red Lion. The Red Lion is just a few blocks from the heart of the governmental district. About a half block from 10 Downing St., and a block or so from Parliament. Therefore, if you go in typical tourist garb, you may feel a little underdressed. We went at lunchtime, and it wasn't bad, but I'd imagine that, due to its proximity, after a hard day of yelling back and forth at each other back and forth, and heckling the PM, the Ministers may come down for a pint or two.

Head to Edinburgh for a great night out - there are pubs in Edinburgh which stay open until 3 in the morning and others that open at 5am. It is the place to enjoy a night out - with great restaurants, great views and great pubs.
