by DianeDundee

If in Scotland and looking for a good night out - find a ceilidh to go to! This is a traditional scottish evening with a band and lots of dancing - doesn't matter if you don't know how to do Scottish dancing there will always be someone to show you - and it is great fun!Places such as The Riverside Club and the Renfrew Ferry in Glasgow and the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh - so try the drinking and the dancing and experience something uniquely Scottish!

Ok as u can guess the nightlife in penistone is more a nite in the pub than mad clubbing or partying. There areat least 9 pubs in the centre or within walking distance. All of them are friendly locals with the odd disco and karaoke cropping up. If its a mad nite on the town then visit barnsley 20 mins away which has an abundance of pubs and several niteclubs that are okay for a laugh. 1 of my favourite pubs is the theatre which is the size of a club and has all circus decorations up. its like a normal pub but has a stage for live bands which play every nite. Also the dance area is massive and it stays open till 12 which is good by englands pub standards hehehe. If u really want a mad nite then go to sheffield which has the dance club gatecrasher. here anything goes and u can polish up yer dancing for yer hols in ibiza hehehe

London Pubs. You can find traditional pubs everywhere so if you want a pint, you don't have to look far. They close at eleven though. Also, went to a few 'more modern' bars: Alphabet- Hip spot w/ strong drinks. Lab- ultra fab w/huge cocktail menu and great tunes. Freedom Brewery- Very hip, good beer and modern feel.Bar Rhumba- Basement night club with the hip and the beautiful. Who wants to sit in their room?

Clubs and pubs have changed so much over the last ten years i find it difficult to choose, if you are in the uk for the first time ,find a record store, then a flyer, and choose your self!, i would go for cafe blu bristol for hard techno, anything in bournmouth for house, and rock circus where ever that maybe now for the power cords.cafe blu shakes with the bass , the building was a fire station, so a natural high roof gives a cathedral element to what is a dingy hole, but i love it! punters are really mashed some nights! when i went last, anything!(but that was a year ago)

oxford is a small town so we don't have that many clubs but there are several good places to go....park end on park end road has three floors, r n' b/garage and chart stuff and cheesy listening, dtms has a reputation amongst students as being slightly dodgy and 'rough' but it's actually not that bad (one of the first things you'll notice about oxford is the incredible division between the 'townies' and the 'gownies' as they are called....there's also the zodiac and bullingdon arms for indie/rock fans and poo na na on magdalen street which plays some more eclectic sounds...the purple turtle is a student club, a bit harder to find, it is on a side street off cornmarket street but during the holidays they don't usually charge for entrace which makes it a good place to go if you're on a budget.my fave is probably park end, simply because there's a larger variety of people and music but check...

by antz

Glasgow has the best nightlife in the whole of Scotland. With pubs lining every street and hundreds of clubs, what more can you ask for. One of my personal favourites is a club called The Garage. Always plenty of 70's, 80's and 90's music and a great atmosphere. Even entry and drinks are quite cheap. Not really got a dress code, generally smart casual. However, if the bouncers think you are drunk or just take a dislike to you, then they will probably tell you that you dont meet the dress code.

The Crypt: The Crypt

by Swattsy

The nightspot that offers three venues in one! The Street is an intimate bar, allowing for people of all ages to enjoy alcohol, snacks and, on cold days, warm drinks with a casual atmosphere. A place where one can relax, discuss life and enjoy time with friends and family. Jazz entertainment is offered on Tuesday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes if you want something different. For £5 admission enjoy the atmosphere of The Dime Bar and downstairs The Crypt. The Dime Bar is the 'pit stop' before descending to 'The Crypt' nightclub. Both offer a friendly atmosphere in unique surroundings. Relax and enjoy a great night out surrounded by pulsating music often played by live bands, into the early hours of the morning. Casual
