The Ramore Wine bar: Worth the wait
Great and hard earned reputation as the best restaurant in the area.. Very varied menu and all superb. Strange system where you are seated then order and pay for your food and drinks at the bar before you are served. Long queues during the summer, but a recent extension should help. Always an amazing array of stunning (generally blond) 20 something waitresses. No idea how they manage to keep their consistency (of the food of course!)
Favorite Dish: Try the Peking duck. To die for! Alternatively the burgers wont disappoint
The Griffin Restaurant: Steak In Bushmills Sauce Is to Die For
Although I rave about the food at the Griffin, the decor could do with a bit of a refurb. The ambience of the restaurant is that of a quite laid back unhurried dining experience. The staff in the resturant were all very attentive without been obtrusive, and the food served from extensive table de hote menu was quite superb. From starters of beautiful duck liver pate, through to deserts including fresh fruit pavlova, this was a truly delicious meal.
All main meals were served with a choice of side dishes, some of which were a meal in themselves.
Favorite Dish: The resturant served sirloin steak in a Bushmills sauce, and this was gorgeous.
The steak melted in your mouth, and the Busmills sauce had a delightful taste that was not too overpowering.
Served with a side dish of champ ( creamed mashed potatoe and spring onion) this was one of the best meals i have ever eaten in Ireland.
55 Degrees North: Nice Food WIth Entertainment Thrown In
The Views from 55 Degrees North are fantastic, and i could imagine that in the summer months, sitting with a meal on the decking overlooking the Antrim coast would be beautiful.
We originally wanted to eat in the upstairs restaurant, but they could not fit us in, so sent us to the grill bar downstairs ( so if you want the restaurant reservations are recommended )
The food at the grill bar was average wine bar fare, with the usual choices of fish & chips, and various wraps and meat dishes, nothing spectacular, but not bad.
Staff were very friendly, if somewhat disorganised, but that just added to the fun.
The grill bar had live music, and we all enjoyed singing along with the guitar vocalist, which added to the atmosphere and made the night special, so I would say that the atmosphere coupled with the reasonable food makes this an OK place to head for.
Favorite Dish: The Hot Chilli Chicken Baguette served with a side salad and fries was quite good
The Smugglers Inn: It's A Challenge To Clear Your Plate
Large Irish Inn, which caters for passing trade from the nearby Giants Causeway. Hard to choose from the menu as they all sound so nice. The portions are huge, and i defy any one to clear the plate.
Favorite Dish: The Roast Ham and turkey Sunday lunch was great.
Meat was succulent, roast potatoes were crisp and fluffy and served with mixed veg and some champ.
Washed down with a pint of Magners Irish Cider, this was Sunday lunch at it's best

Harbour Bar and Bistro: One of my best meals ever!
We tried to get in here on a cold winters evening but were told we would have to wait. This didn't present a problem as the attached bar is very good and we settled into the snug behind the bar,. After a short while we were called through and shown to our table in a well laid out bistro with a slate tiled floor. The food that was to follow was excellent and I've not had a better meal since. Cannot recommed this place highly enough!
Favorite Dish: Had an inch thick steak that was superb
D'Arcys: Great food at reasonable prices in the town centre
D'Arcys is a pub with really good food too but the prices are more reasonable than eating in a full restuarant.
Only slight complaint is that the service was not the greatest the night we were there - we often had trouble getting hold of a waitress.
Favorite Dish: As you're by the sea anything with fish or seafood is a very good bet.
55 Degrees North: Great views, pity about the rest
The first restaurant I've ever walked out of without paying. They cant cook a rare steak, and tell you that you are wrong and their chef says pink in the middle is rare. I disagree, and strongly object to having someone question my judgement. There certainly shouldn't be an arguement at the table, highly embarrassing.
Lovely building, great views, but my advice would be to eat elsewhere.
Favorite Dish: Didn't actually get to eat, as the two steaks that were presented were overcooked. Only one of our two side orders arrived, and my wife's steak was getting cold while we waited for my replacement to arrive (they left it and the side on the table to get cold while my second steak was being overcooked)

The Harbour Bar: More great food
Owned by the same people as the Ramore and operated in the same fashion. Food just as good, in a slightly more casual atmosphere. Curiously the waitresses aren’t just as pretty. Well, you were wondering!
D’Arcy’s: Excellent food and great service
‘Olde worlde’ pub front on the outside. Wonderful and varied lunch menu and great dinner menu too. Always excellent food and great service. You will be made to feel extremely welcome with a great meal guaranteed.
