Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum don't be afraid

by dr.firas

In Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum don't be afraid to ask a person when you are visiting the dolls to take a picture, the best way is not to ask the same person twice, there are always many tourists, so you can ask one every time, and sure get ready to do the same for them!

Changing

by dr.firas

You'd better change the money to £ in your country than making it in London, in England you will lose the good price of the changing, I did it and changed the $ and Euro's to £ in France before I come to UK!please remember that too!

Camera

by dr.firas

If you don't have a digital camera, please don't forget to take loads of films for your camera, as you will never feel how you will take them in big qualities, especially in places like Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum :-)

The Tube map

by dr.firas

The whole world call the Subway transport : Metro, but not in wonderland, in London you have to ask for the Tube!well the name comes from the form of the tunnel which is like a tube!anyway it still funny and special to me, you have to pick a map, tube map with you before you go there, and there are plenty of places, like in every section of information bereau in railwaystation like the one in Victoria Station, and they are for free ;-D

It is like this in UK!

Electric and power holes are special in wonderland, it is almost 2 holes all over the world, (or better to say in the biggest part of its countries) but not in England, they like to be special even here, so some new really new electronic stuffs has the 2 wiers for the apparat! but if not and you need to recharge your mobile so better ask or buy an adapter for it! best is to pack it with you to avoid the hesitation!

Layers!!!!

by CDNgirl

I have really lucked out when travelling in the UK. I have never really encountered "typical english weather", until this last trip. Even though the overcast skies and occasional rain didn't really bother me, I did learn how important it is to layer your clothing, as the sun could sometimes shine, and warm things up in a hurry not long after a heavy rain spurt. Also an umbrella is a must...I often chose to use that instead of a coat, in my attempts to dress appropriately for the weather, as one less layer to take off and have to carry around with me!!

Ideally...

An empty backpack. What you're wearing only - if you can. Bare essentials. As you like. But remember, light levels in Europe can be low compared with other parts of the globe. Well, maybe not. But a tent could be good in summer to take in the many outdoor festivals: Glastonbury, Reading and so on. A full credit card. Bring as little as you dare - because London in particular is a great place to shop. Not necessarily price-wise, but certainly has many rare and wonderful items difficult to find elsewhere.
