Money matters
Get a money belt which is a pouch on a string you tuck down your pants or under your shirt. Put your cash, cards, passport and tickets into plastic bags to keep them dry and put into your pouch. You may feel like a smuggler, but everything will be secure. Bring a small amount of cash in 5 or 10-pound notes. Buy a coffee or newspaper and use the change to get a luggage trolley, make calls or pay your fare into town. Bring your bank card. If your bank card is linked into a network like Cirrus (look at the symbols on the back), you can use it at ATMs in the UK. Match the symbol to the ones on the machine. You get the best exchange rate but your bank may levy a fee for using a foreign ATM plus charge for converting the currency. Ask at your bank.
