This lovely reserve is set in the Arun Valley and has wonderful vistas across wet meadows and fields to the South Downs. Upon waking this beautiful February Monday morning, to a crisp yet stunningly sunny day, I dared myself to waste it by staying in to do the house chores. Of course I went out, of course I found a new place to visit, somewhere to walk and to lose myself in, amidst the mooing of cows and splashing of a variety of ducks on the water.

If you are a twitcher, you will love this place, it is one of Europes top wetlands and supports half of the Arun Valley's breeding wading birds and more than half of it's wintering water birds.

This reserve has plenty of events going on throughout the year from beginners to those experienced bird watchers and plenty for children too.

Don't forget your binoculars and camera, not to mention good walking shoes, it can get muddy during winter months, I know, I forgot mine.,
