These are the most expensive bar prices I ever saw. Don't bother with the 'cask' guest beers, they never clear! In the restaurant, they do everything that McD's do but take longer to dish it up and charge more for it. serice is over the top and 'try hard'. Try looking in any direction and not seeing a telly with football on it! with the Pleasant and the Turk's Head a walk away, why would you?

DON'T VISIT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE sh*t.
I used to live in the Royton area and for many years in the past visited this restaraunt, which I now believe to be owned by the son. The guy was just SO RUDE to me and my daughters and I would never go again. There was no customer service to speak of and waiting time for food was ridiculous. When we asked why this was, there was no apology, he made out it was normal and we were wrong for even asking! As we said, just to come over and offer to get more drinks or something is normal in this highly competetive industry.
Will NEVER go again. As they say, 'I don't have to come here to be insulted'.

The Summit is situated on the border of Oldham and Rochdale in a residential area. Being big on sport, particularly football it attract's a good regularcrowd of all ages from 18 to 80 years old! It is also a popular place with people from further afield because of the food served every day. A wholesome meal can be chosen from a varied menu as well as a Specials board. They offer a good selection of wines, tea and coffees to complement your meal, or if you prefer, a perfect pint from the bar. Traditional inside there are separate areas rather than rooms. Thus making the dining area quieter than the sports zone with its large screens, pool table and darts board. Diners can also eat anywhere in the pub or if the weather permits, outside in the beer garden.
Sunday - Thursday 12noon - 11pm. Friday & Saturday 12noon - 12mn.
FOOD OFFER
Monday - Friday 2.30pm - 6pm (excluding Bank Holidays).

The climb from the Carpark can be quite steep for the disabled but there are some disabled parking spaces off the Main Rd after the pub.
Lovely decour makes you feel at home and relaxed in this great pub, the service is good and the food really is fantastic.
The Menu is great with a lot of choice we had Rag Pudding with Mushy Peas, chips an Gravy and it was delicious. well worth the £7.45, people next to us had Mussels which looked and smelled delicious.

The Summit pub has been around for donkeys years and i have overlooked it for something to eat for a while, prefering more well established and dare i say it up-market places to eat.
I went a few weeks ago just for a quick bite and i was pleasantly surprised both with the service and qulaity of food on offer, very reasonably priced as well.
Favorite Dish: Mixed grill - just make sure your hungry when you order this, its a right pile.

Dont get me wrong i would have loved to have gave this restaurant much higher praise but to be honest i cant, its ok, dont get me wrong and the surroundings are nice enough, but the food is so-so, price wise it is ok, but again nothing bargain basement.
General run of the mill local Italian that relies on local custom to get by by from week to week, but wont exactly blow your socks off.
Favorite Dish: I cant remember, the last time i went in i was piddled!

The first written record of the name Ryeton (or Ryton) was in a survey of 1212. Evidence of Stone Age dwellers exists, as does evidence of Romans and later Norsemen, some of whom settled at Thorp It...
