It was a risk I am sure, but Ruislip High Street has a mix of restaurants. However this was a great place to visit and eat! The service was good and the menu excellent. The food met our expectations.

The restaurant is one of three, all with an Italian theme. they are also built within buildings with some age to them. There are two floors of seating and it was a great experience.

Favorite Dish: I had an excellent cheese pastry pockets starter, a fillet steak with pepper sauce and an excellent black coffee!

Baskin Robbins: An ice cream on a Sunday!

After having had a Sunday lunch in a nearby pub, we decided to have our dessert and coffee at Baskin Robbins.

It was very busy, so we could not get a seat nor could I get a coffee. However the ice cream selection was excellent and the service was good.

Favorite Dish: Try the toffee! My suggestion is also to take a 3 scoop offer.

The Duck House: High hopes dashed

It was the Saturday before Mothering Sunday. the nearby Harvester was busy and there was a queue for tables. We crossed the street and went to The Duck House. The menu looked fine, but we were the only people eating.

The food was a poor reflection of the menu offering, and sadly the service was a little hit and miss!

Where we were sitting, we saw things falling from the overhead windows. Even the staff were unsure what the falling items were or where they had fallen from.

Favorite Dish: I had an interesting pie, however it seemed that this and other meat products had an unusual taste - no refunds or discounts given.

The chips were good.

Harvester - The George: One of a chain!

It was a spur of the moment thing - but it was a Sunday lunch stop. This is part of a chain of bar- restaurants; it was fairly busy, and the staff were a little slow.

The bar was busy.

Favorite Dish: Only having been there once, I am unsure I can say that I have a favourite dish. I had a peppered sirloin steak, fries and button mushrooms. It was fairly pleasant.

Shapla: Brilliant Indian!

This restaurant is brilliant!!

Although they serve a buffet lunch, the dinner is much better.

The atmosphere and decor is cosy and authentic, not too big or small.

The service is excellent and the head waiter is astoundingly polite.

And most of all, the food is plentifull and delicous.

Favorite Dish: too many to list - pappadums with a selection of sauces, vegetable tikka masala....it goes on and on...
