a small Aston Martin

In the old stable block is a small museum housing some of the artefacts presented to the royal family on their travels abroad, and also some of the vehicles they used

If you find the hunting of animals offensive be warned that one part of the museum houses a collection of mounted animal heads from various game hunts around the world

the picture shows a scaled down version of a James Bond Aston Marten built for Prince Andrew when he was a child. Its top speed is 10 mph

a beautiful view

This photograph was taken from inside the little hut showing the beautiful view.
It is very easy to imagine Queen Alexandra sitting here, perhaps with some embroidery or a book and enjoying the peace and quiet

Queen Alexandra`s hut

This little hut was built for Queen Alexandria, the wife of Edward VII as she liked to sit quietly and enjoy the view of the small lake. It is tiled inside with Scandanavian style tiles, probably to remind her of her homeland

the entrance to the house

This is the country retreat of the Queen and was built by her great grandfather Edward VII and still furnished in the style of the period some of the ground floor rooms are open for visitors. There are some lovely pieces of furniture and wonderful collections of porceline and jade to view
