The visitor centre at Sandringham House is open daily to 31st October, then Wednesdays and Sundays only until Easter 2004.
The house, gardens and museum are open until 26th October, then closed until 2004
There is excellent access for wheelchairs, and helpers are admitted free
Dogs, with the exception of guide dogs are not admitted

In the old stable block is a small museum housing some of the artefacts presented to the royal family on their travels abroad, and also some of the vehicles they used
If you find the hunting of animals offensive be warned that one part of the museum houses a collection of mounted animal heads from various game hunts around the world
the picture shows a scaled down version of a James Bond Aston Marten built for Prince Andrew when he was a child. Its top speed is 10 mph

It is very easy to imagine Queen Alexandra sitting here, perhaps with some embroidery or a book and enjoying the peace and quiet

This little hut was built for Queen Alexandria, the wife of Edward VII as she liked to sit quietly and enjoy the view of the small lake. It is tiled inside with Scandanavian style tiles, probably to remind her of her homeland

Even in late October the gardens are lovely, with the trees changed to their Autumn colors. There are guided garden tours on Fridays and Saturdays.
The gardens are open from 10.30am to 5pm [4pm in October ]

This is the country retreat of the Queen and was built by her great grandfather Edward VII and still furnished in the style of the period some of the ground floor rooms are open for visitors. There are some lovely pieces of furniture and wonderful collections of porceline and jade to view
