Went to the crofter for a meal and stayed all night, service was second to none, staff were friendly and courteous, night life was great (A trio of local bands were playing that night) overall we had a great time... Thoroughly recommend this bar to anyone!!

Eating opportunities in Fort William are fairly limitied.
I`ve always enjoyed the Grog and the Gruel. This is serves traditional real ale and excellent simple food (the mexican is really good).
Its reasonable value.
However, it can get busy so be prepared to wait.
The staff are friendly and I have never experienced any trouble in the pub.
Normally, fellow tourists/climbers/walkers/hoiliday makers and locals will mix readily.

There are quite a few lively pubs in Fort William. They can get very crowded on the weekend and when the tourists are in town (almost all the time).
There are some that have a younger crowd and vice-versa.
The beverages have changed over the years. I'm sure you will find your favorite. If you are a visitor to Scotland, please try the single malt whiskey's. Ft William has a few distilleries and although not the best in Scotland, they are pretty good.
Dress Code: casual .. comfortable shoes for walking home.
