by StirCrazy Take one of the Double Decker Bus Tours round the city. Now, I'm not usually the sort of sucker who pays out good money to tour a city by bus, but I have to admit that this one is well worth the £££s involved. It's one of these tours where you can get on and off wherever you want throughout the day, and you pick up lots of interesting little details on the way round. I found it extremely interesting... and it gave the feet a well-deserved break. Leave a Comment Directions: Pick up a bus over the road from Waverley Station, just off Princes Street.

by benkade Take one of the numerous bus tours. For 8 pounds you can take the tour as many times as you like. Different tour guides have a different take on Edinburgh's history. You visit Edinburgh castle of course, but the most enjoyable part was driving down the cobbled roads of the old town. Doorways are only 5ft tall, a consequence of people only being that tall a few hundred years ago, there are alleyways, wooden buildings and a charming character that makes you feel like you're actually 500 years back in time, it is just so ancient. Leave a Comment Directions: You also come across the new town, albeit hedged between ancient stone walls.

by Kurt_S. Pitlochry-Edradour Distillery. The Edradour Distlillery is the smallest distillery in Scotland. The Malt Whisky tastes like liquid sunlight (George B. Shaw). Visit it! It is really worth doing so. I recommend you to go on the Whisky-trail for one or two days. Here you can learn a lot about the process of whisky-making and you always have a little taste at the end of the tour. The entrance to many of the distilleries is free. Leave a Comment

The tour is filled with history- the tour guides are fantastic and fun and will scare you to death and make you laugh while teaching you about the amazing city.
