  • See/do as much as possible! If...

Favorite thing: See/do as much as possible! If you want to go shopping, then the city centre is obviously a great place to go, but also go to Byres Road (get the underground to Hillhead, or lots of buses go there - the 44 definitely does, I'm not sure about the numbers ot the other routes) for more unusual shops - DeCourcey's Arcade (in DeCourcey's Lane) has some nice specialist shops and cafes. Also, go to Ashton Lane for a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Fondest memory: Basically the variety of shops, cafes, pubs, clubs, etc. Standing out in Aston lane with a glass of wine just seems so continental.... :-)
In town, you should go to Princes Square. Although most of the shops are VERY expensive, you can get reasonably priced food there. However it can get very busy around lunch time. Try to get a seat by the balcony - although this is the smoking section, you get a good view of the rest of the centre, and if there are musicians playing, you can see them as well as hear them!

Favorite thing: Visit all the shopping arcades and do some heavy spending!!!

Fondest memory: I have a lot of fond memories alas too many to share. A funny thing that springs to mind is many years ago friends of mine and I were playing truant and decided to visit the Transport Musuem (just for something to do) and a photographer for the Glasgow Evening Times was in there. He asked us if we would like to pose for a photograph I declined my two mates agreed - they thought it was great until it was in the evening paper and their parents saw it and grounded them.... that memory always makes me smile:)

Favorite thing: IF YOU CAN BRING SOME EXTRA CASH AS GLASGOW IS A VERY GOOD SHOPPING CITY (ONLY LONDON IS BETTER IN THE UK)FROM THE TOP
NAMES IN FASHION TO THE THE VERY STRANGE PADDYS MARKET THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY. TRY THE BARRAS MARKET ON A
SATURDAY OR SUNDAY OR THE BIG PUBLIC CAR BOOT SALE IN THE EAST ON A SUNDAY.
THE PUB AND CLUBS ARE TOP NOTCH BUT DONT JUST STICK TO THE CITY CENTRE TRY PARTICK OR THE WEST END PUBS(BYRES RD) ALSO THE SOUTH SIDE(SHAWLANDS). THE CLUB SCENE HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY THE TUNNEL/THE ARCHES/ARCHAOS OR DESTINY ALWAYS ARE GOOD NIGHTS OUT BUT BE WARNED DRINK IS EXPENSIVE IN THE CLUBS.
THE CHEAPEST PINT OR SHORT I KNOW ABOUT IN GLASGOW IS THE COUNTING HOUSE AT GEORGE SQUARE WHICH IS ALSO A GREAT MEETING PLACE TO START YOUR NIGHT.

Fondest memory: THE PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT DOUBT THE FRENDLIST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET THEY WILL HELP ANYBODY AT ANYTIME.
THEY LOVE TO TALK TO PEOPLE WHO ARE GUESTS IN THE CITY AND YOU WILL FIND THE HONEST IN THEIR OPINIONS OF ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO GO OR HAVE HEARD OF.
