Pack for all weathers!!
Luggage and bags: A good sized waterproof bag, wheels are good as city centre is fairly well paved so it's easy to wheel your bag.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring a variety of clothing, layers especially as the weather can be very changeable. Bring a couple of different types of shoes as well as it can get pretty wet even in summer. In winter it is an overcoat colder in Glasgow than even teh north of England, bring a hat, gloves and scarf.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Everything available locally
UMBRELLA AND RAINCOAT
Luggage and bags: If hiking then bring a good rucksack otherwise if your visiting the cities then the norm. applies
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfortable shoes for walking during the day.
People do tend to dress up at the weekends so don't forget a glitzy number for the weekends
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: If your going hiking then be aware that in we weather the Scottish midge can be terribly irritating so wear netting. Mosquito repellant doesn't work.
Photo Equipment: Bring cover for camera for rain can come down in torrents and leave you soaked to the skin even with a Gortex Jacket on. No joke!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Double digits weather is rare so no bikins or light clothing. Always bring plenty warm jumpers and make sure you have plenty waterproofs
Miscellaneous: If you want to go hiking then make sure that you have the correct footware and water resistant gear. The best kind is the one of the cheaper variety even although it can become sweaty for the most expensive Gortex clothing can still leave you feeling wet and sticky. Bring a water resistant map that you can sit on if you are caught up a mountain for it can take a while for the weather to clear
Luggage and bags: backpack and a bag with wheels as you'll be pulling it around a bit probably
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Trainers (sneakers!),denims, kagool or some kind of pull on easy waterproof jacket. A brolly (umbrella) is a good bet as even when it looks sunny it always rains!
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: None needed its a city you can buy it here!
Photo Equipment: good selection of camera shops so none needed
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Only if you are going to Loch Lomond or further north in which case take Midgie Repellant! (Avon Skin So Soft is good)
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Good idea to take lots of wet weather clothes if coming at any time of the year other than June, July and August! Then again, when you least expect it, the sun does come out to meet you! Saying that, it is now June and I just can't see any sun..something wrong here I think!!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Ok, listen carefully - TAKE AN UMBRELLA!!!!!!! Seriously, I think Glasgow might be the wettest place on Earth....well, that may be a slight exageration, but still.... No matter how sunny it looks in the morning, it could still be pouring down within a few hours - or even minutes, so an umbrella will come in very handy.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Its been said that if you dont like the weather in Glasgow wait 10 minutes and it will change. I have heard people say that they went to Glasgow and it rained so ... TAKE A BLOODY RAINCOAT AND STOP BLOODY MOANING. Apart from that take what ever you feel comfy in
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: You are only an hour away from some of the finest walking areas, for example Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond so be sure to bring suitable boots/shoes, a warm jacket and a waterproof, even in summer. Don't even attempt it in winter. You are also only 30 minutes away from beaches but we don't get particularly warm summers although we can get some very hot days.
Miscellaneous: If venturing into the countryside in summer/autumn you must take a midge repellant, Deet or similar
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If you are visiting at the beginning of May this is around the only time when you should pack sun tan lotion - this is when everyone is sitting exams and you can guarantee the weather will be glorious :-)
Alternatively please bring warm clothes and anything to guard against the rain!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The summer in Glasgow can be warm, but showers are a normal occurrence. So bring suitable lightweight waterproof clothing. Winter is very cold and yes more rain! So warm n waterproof is needed.
Photo Equipment: There is a lot of beautiful architecture and natural aesthetic beauty in Glasgow and surrounding countryside. Bring a good camera ...even better is a videocamera!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Waterproof jacket...Umbrella, when wind too, better with a hat!
