This is a Wetherspoon restaurant, but located in an old building on the corner of George Square. I once spent a very nice Sunday afternoon celebrating a friend's birthday with a copious afternoon meal.
The food is traditional; what is impressive is the decor, as most of the buildings in Merchant City used to be trade buildings or Court House. Though it can be quite busy, this is not your usual small and dark pub.
Favorite Dish: We all had variations of the Sunday Roast (trademark). There's a choice of meat, veggies, steak pies and chips at a nice price.
Another Wetherspoons pub located in an old bank building on Georges Square.
If your a food snob or you want "authentic Scottish food or nothing" then its probably not your cup of tea but if you are looking for some simple but delicious pub grub at reasonable prices then its the perfect place. Me and my friend usually end up here when we're in town shopping
Its one of those places where you pick your table then order your food at the bar and they have a fairly large menu. There are also special deals to be had and drink is cheap.
Favorite Dish: My current fave dish is the 5 bean Chilli but I also am partial to the Chicken Pasta Alfredo and if I'm REALLY hungry then a bacon and cheese burger!
