Loch Lomond is all about grand open spaces... Just take a look around you. It's just awesome.
Fondest memory: The feel of the wind on my face... The first view I had on the lake. The mountains in the horizon. The clouds making the panoramas so mysterious...
Loch Lomond is the largest fresh water Loch in the UK. The Loch is 24 miles long and five miles wide and at its deepest point is some 600 feet deep.
On the Loch there are approximately 38 Islands, some of them inhabited and there is even a Hotel on one, Inchmurrin.
Loch Lomond must be the worlds most famous Loch and has been much written about, both in song and verse. The area is renowned for its beauty and tranquility and offers picture postcard views around every corner.
Favorite thing: As it is said in the sign near Loch Lomond "Nothing can be more striking than the first view of Loch Lomond" and it's true. I guess, I've never seen such an amazing landscape near the lake before. So calm and cosy.
Favorite thing: There are a lot of different places you can stop along the way for differing views of the scenery and Loch Lomonds Bonnie Banks. This happens to be one of my favourites spots. Its just before you reach Luss - after turning off the main road - near Aldochlay.
