Norries: Fish and Chips
Ok, so this is not a restaurant - but I have to mention it anyway!
If you plan on getting fish and chips one night, and just taking a stroll along the seafront, eating out of old newspaper and watching the boats come in - don't go anywhere else for your fish and chips!!
Norries is the best fish bar in town - all of the others pale by comparison. Take my word for it, I have tried them all over the years, and now won't go anywhere else!!
McTavish's kitchens: Hmmm let me think!
McTavish's kitchens are situated in Oban and
Fort William and we called in here for a quick bite to eat. I had Chicken with chips and salad and to be honest although a simple meal the chips were soggy and the meal in general was nothing special. my friend had a lasagne and he also had the same opinion so it was not confined just to my meal.
i had heard good things about this place and dont get me wrong it was ok and the staff were friendly and teh place was clean but the food was not up to scratch. - Sorry!
Favorite Dish: not applicable for reasons explained above.
The Calendonian in Oban is opposite the railway station and ferry terminal. It is a large 100 year old Victorian hotel with great views overlooking Oban Bay. You can just get a drink here or have lunch or dinner.
They of course provide accommodation as well.
