    Metro Brasserie: good lunch!

Hotel is in background, behind road

    Very "modern" minimalist decor. Good.

    Friendly, quick & professional service.

Good food with a decent choice even at lunchtime.

Pleasant outlook over City Quay - redeveloped area with shops, restaurants and offices. Restaurant is in the 4* Apex City Quay Hotel, so easy free parking even tho' its in the city centre.

    UPDATE!

Just been back (Dec 10) almost 3 years after my last visit. I had a Christmas Sunday lunch with 7 friends. Really good! I had potted crayfish, venison in a cherry sauce and a prune parfait. Only £17.50 with coffee. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Favorite Dish: I had a salad to start - mozzarella with 4 kinds of tomato (sundried, yellow, "beef" and normal). Excellent.

Then Malaysian chicken curry. Again excellent.

  • Jimmy Chung's: An "all you can eat" treat!

by bindiibabe Written Jul 3, 2009

This all you can eat buffet restaurant is always busy. Staff are friendly and efficient, food tasty & new batches freshly cooked regularly, pleasant decor & ambience.
Set price varies, dependant on whether you are having lunch or dinner and also time of week.
There is usually a choice of 2 soups plus a varied selection of starters such as spring rolls, wonton, ribs, chicken satay etc, with dishes such as crispy duck pancakes or salt n pepper prawns added for evening service. Main courses are varied, everything from lemon chicken to beef curry, again extra dishes like garlic squid are added in the evening. There is a full range of accompaniaments such as rice & noodle dishes on offer as well as a salad bar. Desserts include icecream, banana fritters, mango pudding, jelly, cake or gateau and fresh fruit salad.

Favorite Dish: Mango pudding - a set mango dessert (think jelly/blancmange but fruity) look out for the less frequently available coconut version too.

Rama: Best thai I've ever had!

by clivedinburgh Written Feb 6, 2008

I'm by no means an expert to Thai cuisine but this place seems to do it very well. Whilst quaffing down a really good wine we witnessed several groups take their seats after us and most seemed to be repeat business who were still exited about the meal ahead. The food when it arrived was excellent and certainly made our visit to the city all the more memorable.

Favorite Dish: I'd sizzling prawns to start (soz, can't remember the exact name) then green thai chicken curry with coconut rice. It was truly superb!

Clean, bright, modern place. Decent menu, reasonable prices. Its located on a leisure park (cinema, ice rink, hotel, fast food etc), so good access and parking.

Favorite Dish: I had a chicken curry with chili + potatoes, rice, paratha. Very good.

    But'n'Ben Restaurant: Best local seafood

by trvlrtom Updated Sep 8, 2006

This homey place in the village of Auchmithie, just up coast from Arbroath, is a curious and friendly restaurant. It is well known for its smokies, which seem to be popular in this area and unknown elsewhere. Give them a try; unique and tasty.

There is a small trail leading down to the coast from town - nice for stretching your legs before or after a meal.

The Mandarin Garden: Good Chinese Food

by lynmur Written May 17, 2006
    Map

This restaurant - which is beside the Rep Theatre, is a lovely Chinese, perfect for a pre theatre dinner, ideal for couples and larger tables. The staff are always welcoming and happy to help.

Favorite Dish: We like the Mussels in Black Bean sauce to start and the Mongolian Beef for main. Nothing is bland but nothing is too heavy tasting either.

    Corfu: Cure that hangover!

by scubaphoto Updated Dec 10, 2004

Forget ambience and seating this is a no frill fast food joint located just around the corner from Fatsams (just follow the crowds and the smell). What awaits you a taste sensation of high fat fast food at its best. This place does some business when the nightclubs finish. What better way to end a night off than to indulge in some quality fast food.

Favorite Dish: By far it had to be the (Healthy option) of chips, cheese and coleslaw and capped off with one of their tasty and quite large cheese burgers. Forget McDonalds this is the place for you.
