The Barber Institute has managed to build up a small but excellent collection of paintings and sculptures. It has specialised in pre-twentieth century works so don't expect anything really modern. I was surprised by the number of small scale works by international masters. Turner, Gaugan, Matisse and a surprising number of drawings which were later converted by the masters into paintings which can be seen in the International Galleries around the world.
