Walk and look at the varied old houses in the streets leading to the market square.

This is one, the Psaltry's, window.

    The garden in early March

by ChrsStrl Updated Mar 30, 2003

This is a nationally famous garden just west of Colchester, a few miles from Sudnury. It is worth visiting for the beauty of the flowers even if you are not a horticulturalist! There is a series of 5 pools. It was begun in 1960 to see if a garedn could be created where conditions were not good - dry slopes, boggy patches and woody areas. The scale of the success is unbelieveable! Open all year Monday to Friday and Saturdays in summer.
