We take the ferry from Amsterdam to Newcastle. This one is ideal if you are going on to Scotland. It sails at 17.00 hours and arrives in England at 10.00. The road links north and south are great.
It was not easy to drive on...
It was not easy to drive on the left handside , but it works after serveral days . It may be easier ,when you lent a car in the UK . We d ónt have done it this time , but next time w´ll try it !!!
There is a bus and train...
There is a bus and train station as well numerous cab firms around the town, very easy to get around, as its only a small town.
London Black Cabs
The famous Black Cabs are useful to get around, but I think they're more expensive than taking the London Underground.

I got to ride on one of these in London. And a good thing too cos I met a nice Jamaican girl while on it.

The oldest tubes in the world! They are extremely expensive, though, so maybe walking would be a better idea for the cash-strapped backpacker.

Millenium Bridge and St....
Millenium Bridge and St. Pauls. The locals call this bridge the wibbly-wobbely because it had to be closed 2 days after it opened because of excessive swaying..suposed to be fixed by Summer 2001.
