British Transport
To travel the country, you can take a coach, plane or train. Coach travel is the cheapest and slowest, train the next in line. Flying is the most comfortable but you will probably spend more time getting to the airport and waiting to board the plane than the amount of time spent in the air. The longest flight any where in the U.K. is about an hour and most of that is spent circling around while flight control slot your plane into a landing pattern.Apart from staying in a large city where I would recommend the local transport to get around, to get to places in the country side, you really need to hire a car. Currently, hiring a medium size car to take a family costs about £240 (400 ecus) for a week. This includes all insurance and taxes but excludes any petrol you use.
