The Pea Green Boat: You must try the Bara Brith!!
After a stroll around the peaceful village of Laugharne you simply must stop off here for refuelling. The staff are really friendly and serve almost anything from coffee & cakes to burgers & home cooked beef curry - this was my favourite. I also wholeheartedly recommend the Bara Brith - a Welsh fruit cake which is absolutely delicious smothered in butter!! This cafe also sells a wide selection of local produce including honey, wine, Jam, chocolate. The meals are inexpensive - around 7GBP for the curry which is about average for this area.
Cross House: Great Curry
Located on the Grist, center of town, great roast lamb, curries. Captain Cat's Bar and Polly Garter's lounge, after characters in Under Milkwood. Fine selection of beers and ales and wines, but no ginger beer. Go to the Spar store for that and get the Cader Idris brand.
Favorite Dish: Chicken Curry is excellent, a standout among pub curries. Chilli con carne is potent and tasty. Roast of the Day is invariably excellent

Castle View Restaurant: More than a Fish-and-Chip Shop!!
A take away fish and chip shop but also with a pleasant sit-down area, clean and bright with nice service. Well priced and ideal for a family. Of course, the fish dishes are excellent but other choices too. The fish soup and chowder are superb. Specials each day on the board - the ploghmans was good too. If sill hungry go to the Owl and Pussycat cake shop and tearoom next door or next time for a sit-down tea. SHUT THURSDAYS Visit it after going to Dylan Thomas's Boathouse and a walk on the beach!

Owl and the Pussycat: Great Cakes and Deserts
Heard great things about this tearoom/restaurant but it was very busy the day we were there at afternoon tea time - lots of smiley folks. Anyway, managed to get some take away cakes - the gooseberry crumble was divine. We'll have a full meal next time so maybe book - it's popular
THE CARPENTERS ARMS: FUN AND FINE FOOD
The Carpenters Arms can be found just outside of Laugharne in Broadway, on the way to Pendine. We called in for lunch on our final day in Laugharne in July 2010 and had a wonderful experience. The pub was virtually empty except for the four of us and mine host was very welcoming. We were seated in the restaurant area and offered the lunch menu or the evening if we wished. We all ordered from the evening menu and were delighted with what we got. The Lamb was beautiful and our sons mixed grill was ENORMOUS. He's a tall lad and has a hearty appetite and he managed to wolf it all. Lesser mortals should be warned though!! The welcome received from the host was wonderful. He was just what mine host should be, jovial, happy and quietly efficient. Go see for yourself.
Favorite Dish: Lamb leg steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked.
