Pen Cei/Harbour parade has been voted in 2010 the 5th most picturesque street in Britain. It really isn't hard to understand why...it stretches from the seafront overlooking the harbour at Aberaeron. The Harbourside on Pen Cei is a classy Hotel which is painted a striking blue with white window frames next door there is the harbourmasters office on one side and the Tourist Information office on the other. The remaining properties are a mix of commercial and residential properties, all individually painted each colour of the spectrum.

The Harbour at Aberaeron is a popular place to have a stroll. You can start at the Tourist Information Centre at the seaward end of Pen Cei and while you're there why not pop in and pick up the free Aberaeron booklet which contains a map and town trail, lots of accomodation ideas and local events listings.

We walked inland towards the town, crossed over the wooden bridge and headed back down the other side of the harbour towards the sea front. Here you can get some great photo opportunities and there are lots of benches along the way if you just want to relax and soak up the ambience.

Walk on the beach and look at the rock formation. It is slate that has been tilted from its normal horizontal in ancient geological times. Because of this there are a few fissures in the cliff, some with water trickling down.
Care must be taken as there is the danger of rock falls

Cardigan Bay is beautiful and lends itself to water sports. There is a centre which rents out canes and kayaks 'at affordable prices'. It also offers lessons.
    Nearby is the lifeboat centre.

    Equipment: It can be hired
