The Cripple Creek Inn: Attractive, welcoming country Inn
A lovely old fashioned country inn. From the moment you approach the building the well maintained and presented exterior impresses as a well cared for establishment.
Inside this is maintained with attractive decor and furnishings - everywhere is spotlessly clean and there is a homely, relaxed atmosphere.
Spacious interior with bar area, two dining rooms and cosy dining corners. All the staff we have met there have been friendly and provide a professional service.
We have eaten there both at lunchtime and in the evening.
For lunch a special menu including some lower priced dishes is available - very good value,
Good quality wine prices are very fair and there are a number of good beers available and the bar is popular with locals.
Our most recent visit was for a quiet anniversary celebration. The staff colluded very discreetly with our scattered family who had discovered where we intended to go, telephoned in advance and arranged to pay the bill. The staff seemed to share our delight when they surprised us with the news.
Favorite Dish: Excellent fish dishes; roast Aylsbury duck.
The Cripple Creek Inn: A Popular Pub
When we visited Raglan we arranged to meet up with VTer Ranger49 and this was the pub that she suggested. It is just outside Raglan but seems to be a very popular place to Eat.
Although we only had a few drinks here while chatting to Barbara and her husband we were informed that the food was very good here but it was unfortunately fully booked up. It seems that if you want to eat here you have to book well in advance.
It is a lovely family run pub with two restaurants and a great friendly atmosphere, certainly a good place to go just for a drink and to warm up in front of the real log fires.
We had a great time chatting to Barbara and John
On leaving we purchased some lovely free range eggs that are available in the entrance way.
The pub is open all day 7 days a week
Food is served from 12:00 pm to 14:30 and 18:00 to 21:30

The Cripplecreek Inn: Looks delicious
The Cripplecreek was the location of an impromtu VT meet when we met up with VT member Barbara (Ranger49) and her husband John. We called in for a few drinks but primarily the Cripplecreek is well known for the great meals on offer. The hearty home cooked meals are extremely popular, while we were there several people rang up to book a table only to be told they were fully booked. It has a lovely cosy interior and great atmosphere, I would love to call in for a meal next time I'm in the vicinity.

Raglan Fryer: Great Chippy
This is a great chippy in the centre of Raglan, we called in here and got some Fish and Chips which were really lovely, nice chips and lovely fresh fish in a nice batter.
