with mountain ranges of over 3000 feet there is a lot of mountain climbing, but also hiking is popular.
North of Capel Curig we saw someone hang gliding.
Campers alo make use of this region

Equipment: good walking shoes or mountain boots, and all weather gear is advisable.
We had mist descend suddenly, so beware.

    Climbing Snowdonia...

    by A2002 Written Sep 18, 2002

Equipment: Being some warm clothings, also in the summer. As you might know, weather is fast changing in the UK and especially so up on the mountain. Wear comfortable shoes.
Bring a big dog... When I was "walking" up the mountain (just like walking up a very steep slope for miles on well-establised path), I saw several (or rather many) people having big or small dogs with them. At that tiring time, how I wish I got a big dog to pull me up the mountain. :-P.
