The Pistyll Rhaeadr falls at 240 feet long are the longest waterfalls in England and Wales. Fed by the waters of the upland peat bogs of the Berwen mountains they are quite spectacular and worth a visit even if they are a little bit off the beaten track.
You can stand and admire the falls from the bottom or take the path around the hillside to circumnavigate to the top where you can see the spot that the water tumbles over the rock.
Also at the top there is a further small drop of about 60 feet or so not visible from the bottom.
Allow 40 minutes for the walk to the top, admire the view and descend again.
When you reach the bottom stop for a cup of tea or coffee in the Swiss style cafe.
