If you are taking your dog on holiday with you, there are several beaches in the Vale that have a dog ban between May and October, this includes the main Barry Island beach, however there are still a couple where dogs are welcome all year.
If you get bored of swimming or sunbathing on Barry beach you can spend some time playing minigolf close to the promenade. It must be one of the favourite activities of the British as we saw the course being used by a few people at the same time. It's a pity we didn't have time to have a go.
On three of the roundabouts along Ffordd Mileniwm I noticed the roundabouts had stones arranged in a circle or cluster. I wonder if the authorities are trying to remind the inhabitants and visitors of Wales' Celtic or Druidic past.
Or is it just an artistic way of using a local commodity ?
Each of the roundabouts has a signpost on it pointing to a place 200-300 miles away on mainland Europe. Are these towns that are twinned with Barry?
