Harry Ramsdens is a chain of restaurants specialising in fish, chips & mushy peas. The Cardiff restaurant is situated right next to the restaurant area in Cardiff bay called Mermaid Quay. With it's waterside location & damn fine fish & chips it's a winner with me. There is also a takeaway bar at the rear of the building, if it's a really sunny day there's nothing better than eating Harry Ramsdens fish & chips on the waterfront.
Favorite Dish: errrm Fish & chips!!
A swish place to take the girlfriend on a Saturday night.
A restored barn with a lovely area outside to relax over post dinner coffees and liquers.
Favorite Dish: I asked my girlfriend whether I should have three rock oysters or six for starters. She said six, which seemed to do the trick if you know what I mean :)
Excellent fish all round.
This was one of those places we just had to settle on because we were hungry. It turned out to be okay, but nothing special. It is new, and it looks like it wants to be the classy place for people to gather, but I thought the decor tacky and clinical, all at once.
Typical of other restaurants in this chain, but still clean ,well presented and good quality food.
Favorite Dish: Cod and chips, good size fish not to greasy either.
