This lookout is part of Snowdonia National Park. The views from here are spectacular. Especially on a sunny day like we had. There is a good size restaurant and gift shop there as well.

The Smithfield Restaurant obviously did good lunches...and cheap too.
Roast lunches served daily. Only 6.95 pound!

There is not a great deal to see in Ruthin, but the architecture alone makes it worth a stop. Beautiful black and white half timbered buildings make up the core of the town centre.

This aqueduct was completed in 1805 to carry the canal over the Dee. At 307m long it is a spectacular piece of engineering. 38m high and beautiful to look at.

Spectacularly sited, Harlech Castle gazes out across land and sea, keeping an eye on Snowdonia. Edward I built it in the late 13th century.

    Caerphilly Castle

I just can't resist haunted ruins. Caerphilly is unique among castles that I have visited in that it is the only one that I have seen with two cocentric moats.

Hay on Wye is a little Welsh village near the English border that is known for it's book stores. The castle, a former movie theatre, even the firestation sell books.

Parts of the castle were refurbished in the 1800's (take the tour of this part), part of the castle was built in the early 1200's (see photo), and one wall was built by the Romans 2000 years ago.

    Whistling Sands

As you can see from the picture this is a beautiful beach that was totally deserted when we were there. Great for walks with its lovely rolling hillsides, or take your bike like the boys did!

My cousins lived in a town near Bangor and this was the main reason for our visit to Wales. We had a great time spending time with them and touring the countryside.

This is a really nice castle!

Thought the surrounding vew is not as beautyfull as Conwy, this castle is better kept than Conwy and much larger!

It also has a nice war museum inside.

Although there is not much of a village here there is a lovely dam. The surrounding countryside is lovely and with the mist it is all the more mystical.

This victorian seaside town with its two bays and pier is a very popular resort on the North Wales coast. The Orme provides for some scenic hiking on an easy level - much more on my Llandudno page.

Gardians for gardens... Not sure if it's a usual thing in Wales, or just this garden in Vale of Glamorgan...

Beasts are those on the posts, not those who are hugging the posts, hehehehhe...
