If you've looked round the Chapel, you might as well adjourn to the adjacent Red Lion hotel for a pint whilst waiting for your train. An old-fashioned hotel, it boasts quite a sizable dining area, although I didn't eat. There are outside tables to the rear and an interesting collection of old agricultural implements.

This was the reason for my visit to Whittlesford. The building is a medieaval chapel, which served various functions over the years - a hospital, a lodging for travellers and so on. It is architecturally interesting and well-preserved, although fifteen minutes will give you a good look round it.
