Last, but not least, The Sixtine Chapel. After many years of restoration is finally completly open to the public. When I was there, 'The Last Judgement' wall was not finished.
This controversial restoration, has taken almost 20 years, and many art critics did not like, what the art technicians, were doing to this painting. One thing is certain, it needed to be cleaned and brought back to life. Michaelangelo's masterpiece is certainly one of the icons of the Renaissance.
Saint Peter said that there is no indulgence for me and that I must go to the flames of the hell and join Pope Bonifacio VIII placed in the hell by the writer Dante Alighieri in the Divina commedia. Let us see what Dante says about Rome in the 1300 Jubilee proclamed by Bonifacio VIII. In Inferno XVIII.28-33 he tells us about traffic control for the pilgrims flocking there.
Going to cathedral, make sure you are dressed appropriately. Too much naked flesh is unacceptable. Even on the hottest day, take something to hide your shoulders and legs when going inside the cathedral.
You may want to check out the dates when the pope gives his weekly mass, the last i know he conducts the mass every wednesday.
The dress code is strict here. Please look carefully at the photo before you go!

You can expect security akin to the airports here at the Museum Entrance - you will be asked to check large items and pass security screening just like airports.
The rest of the Vatican City is a small, extraordinary world which can not be described here, due to lack of space.
However, the nucleus of the collection is made up by the works of the greatest masters of the Italian Renaissance, of a really inestimable value.
We were lucky to see and hear the Pope on Sunday at noon. He was preaching from the window of his domicile - and the congregation was standing on St. Peter's Square.
It was very impressive, indeed!
When visiting the Vatican museums and St. Peters, is is necessary to cover your legs and arms and wear no revealing clothing.
Be respectful. Even the emperor Nero had to wear his robe before he disputed with the Pope, so you too need to dress with long slacks and covered arms.Ave.
When in the Vatican, make sure you use their postal system and mail some postcards to loved ones! This is a picture of the Vatican's Swiss guards. I don't know why Swiss guards are there though..??
Inside the Vatican Museum itself, you will find some of the most amazing and beautiful hallways in all of Europe. This is the Hall of Maps. Just fantastic.
Here's one example of the statues you will be seeing...there is plenty more to see in all shapes and sizes!
I wish I could come back real soon! I really loved it! It is a christian's most gratifying and spiritual visit!
