Vatican City by hopang Walking is an ideal way to exercise your legs, body and mind especially on your vacation in a foreign country! Vatican City has a total area of just around 110 acres which is the smallest country in the world in terms of size and population. Thus all corners of the Vatican City are within walking distance. Of course you may choose to stop and relax while walking wherever and whenever you like along the way in the city streets, to chill out in the bars or restaurants, to hunt for souvenirs at the many souvenir shops along the streets, to do some window shopping at elegant shopping malls or simply to visit the various tourist attractions in the city! A horse-drawn carriage at St. Peters Square by hopang, 1 more photos Horse-drawn carriage is a popular means of transportation along with the mini trains for local and foreign tourists in the streets of the city of Vatican! Even though Vatican City has a total area of only approximately 110 acres and is the smallest country in the world, you may still relax and take the slow moving horse-drawn carriage to view the colourful streets and lovely architectural buildings of the city. These horse-drawn carriages are stationed on the eastern end of St Peters Square opposite St. Peter's Basilica. You may even take the horse-drawn carriage from Vatican City to tour parts of the city of Rome if you think there is not much more to see in the Vatican City! Leave a Comment

The road to Vatican City by dr.firas Walking from Rome to Vatican city is the best way to visit the Vatican city and its museum, as the bus could go faster than you can give a long sight and the studing of every place and monument, so best transportation are your feet ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by lina112 We went by metro to Vatican, you have to take metro line A and leaving on Ottaviano metro stop. If you go to Vatican Museum you have to get off on Cipro metro stop and follow the signs. Fuimos en metro, tienes que coger la linea A y bajarte en la parada de Ottaviano. Si vas a los museos vaticanos la parada de metro para bajarte es Cipro. Leave a Comment

by lina112 Bus number 64 is the one we used to go to Vatican. We took it on Termini station and has few stops before arrive. Careful because pickpockets used to go on this bus. El autobus num 64 es el que va al Vaticano desde Termini, nosotras lo cogimos alli. Hay que gastar cuidado porque en este autobus suelen ir bastantes carteristas. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

The square by TinKan You can get to the Vatican City by just about any mode you would like as all bus, metro and taxi stop close by. We however prefer to walk. Walking in town is a good way to see some of the smaller streets and you do learn to take shortcuts after a few days in Rome. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by sourbugger Rome's tram network could hardly be described as extensive, but it does at least stop at Piazza Risorgimento, which is only a couple of blocks walk to the Vatican. It takes a somewhat circuitous route back to the centre of town. (and it involves a change if you want to get to the train station), but it is certainly more scenic than the Metro, and less hassle than the bus. Leave a Comment

Take the Metro Linea A and get off at the Ottaviano station. I could never figure out how their bus system works, but that's another option. Then of course there are the taxis (shudder), driven by maniacal Roman cabbies (some of whom, on the other hand, could pass off as male models!). By foot. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

No departure from here by sourbugger Here's a good trivia question : What has the Vatican city got 862 meters of that Afganistan and Malta have none of ? Answer : Railway line. This knowledge will make you an anorak, but you will still need to use the Metro (Ottaviano on Line A) to get to the Vatican and walk, as the railway station is only used for supplies to the papal state. People in the piazza by ophiro The best option to see the vatican to my opinion is to walk in this place. this is not a big place so it is ok to walk from place to place. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
