Lake Sevan
Definitely a must see is Lake Sevan and the peninsula with old churches. It's also possible to camp near the lake - it seems to be a popular resort among the locals. In the middle of the peninsula, on a hill, you will find three more than 1000 year old churches - two of them intact. It's all within walking distance from the train station. It's possible to go to lake Sevan on a daytrip from Yerevan.
