Cheap skiing at Tsaghkadzor

by RaffiKojian

If you like to ski, and plan to visit Armenia in the winter, bring your skis! Tsaghkadzor has been the place to go for skiing in Armenia for a long time, and with the brand new ski lifts brought from Austria, the sport is catching on more than ever. There are a fair number of runs, and day passes as well as pay as you go tickets are quite cheap. The ski rental situation however leaves something to be desired, so bringing your own will put you ahead in the game. The runs are pretty standard fare, nothing too exciting, but the price and the views are tough to beat. If you don't bring your own skis, try renting at one of the nicer hotels in town for the day. Prices are often quoted by the hour, and usually the prices are too high, and the equipment too poor - if you can find your size.
