Phoenix Bar: Strangest Aussie Bar I've Ever Seen
Phoenix Bar, just off Fountain Square, beside the Cinema.
It's an Aussie bar, but it looks classy and nice inside - a strange mix! Always a good crowd in there in the evenings, and a big screen for all sports.
Dress Code: No dress code, mostly oil workers and people working for Afghan NGOs on holiday or in transit, so most people are pretty scruffy - often people in there in their high-vis boiler suits from the oil rigs!
There are several English...
There are several English pubs. My favorites were Chaplins, Shakespeares, Finigans, and the Rig bar.
The Hyatt Disco is fun on saturday nights. Other discos that are fun are Sherwoods, the Coral, the Tural, and the Blackjack.
They stay open till 5 am and open again at 7 am.
Dress Code: casual
William Shakespeare: English Pub
Typical English style pub. However, do not expect many brands of beer. Decent place with reasonable pricing.
Dress Code: No dress code.
Plenty of bars: Bars
There are plenty of bars around Fountain square, we went in Finnegans, an irish bar plus Phoenix, an aussie bar, both about £1.20 a beer!
The Phoenix done main meals for about £3, 25,000 manits.
