	The Baku Restaurant: Eating Under the Trees Satisfaction:

This restaurant in in a park like atmosphere. The tables for four are outside under the trees. They serve lamb, chicken, fried fish.
The dinner is accompanied by a delicious selection of breads and vegetables.

My favorite of the dishes was the lamb chops.

The architecture is very unique. There are medieval like rooms with stone walls. Rooms have fireplaces of old style. Service is good.

Local food is mainly meat (red). "Sashlik", "tike" are the ones with most reputation. But my favourite was meat and rice wrapped in grape leaves. Locally called "Yaprak Dolma".

Very modern styled Italian restaurant. The decoration is perfect, even you rarely see in Europe. Staff is excellent and English spoken. The food is excellent with variety of local and import wines.

We were 8 people and had different food. My favourite was Penne L'arrabiata but my friends enjoyed other foods. Local red wine is recommended.

The food is a little pricey but it is in the hotel so I'm sure that is why. But the food is good and the views over the Caspian and the Maiden's Tower are great. If you don't want to pay the food prices, then just sit in the bar below it. Same great view but for the price of a coke...

The filet mignon was good and beautifully cooked... especially because it is difficult to get good beef here. It is on all the local menus, but tends to taste too strong for Western palates. But here it was just like home.

Directions: Stand in the courtyard next to the Maiden's Tower with your back to the big boulevard, the Sultan's Inn is in front of you, slightly to the left. The top floors of the Sultan's Inn are easy to spot at night because the lights are all glowing red.

This restaurant is situated in the old city ( isheri shehir) and its one of the best restaruarnt in Baku .Specially in the hot summer nights the garden can offer you 1001 nights fairies

Housed in a 14th century caravanserai, that’s all this restaurant has to offer. Half of the menu is international cuisine and only foreign drinks are served, while poor English speaking but aggressive waiters try to make the choice in your place on the highest end of the menu. And this is not all – the “local flavour show” is in fact a series of 4-5 Russian songs and ballades of Intourist type, for which 10 new mantas/table (11 usd) are requested above and outside the bill. Not to forget – you are kicked off at around 23,00 (“Sorry, we have to close, I will probably go home by taxi anyway”).

In a few words, a 14th century caravanserai transformed into a restaurant with average food and aggressive service, accompanied by kitsch Russian songs and foreign drinks.

Of all the things we ordered being pushed by an agressive waiter, LAVANGI - chicken stuffed with walnuts and herbs (speciality form S Azerbaijan) - is the only memorable one.
