Miscellaneous: Bring along a guide to the Middle East buy a reputable company such as Lonely Planet, Foot Prints or another company. Read the reviews on Amazon before you buy. My personal preference is Lonely Planet. Although these can be purchased locally, it may not be easy to find. The selection may also be limited so buy before you arrive. Buy a Middle East travel guide as you will want to see other things when you are here. Bahrain is a small country after all. If you don't think you want to, wait till you read what the Middle East can offer. You may change your mind.

  • Type of Suncream

Miscellaneous: The best type of Sun cream to bring along with you is one that is non waterproof. Not being waterproof will allow your skin to breathe better and to perspire better. This will keep you more comfortable when you are out and about and not swimming. The waterproof sun cream can be easily purchased here. However the cost may be more than what you are used to.

Luggage and bags: sunscreen and spf lip balm (just in case), tanning oil, no foundation (just bronzer), waterproof mascara, anklets and toe rings, nail polish (toes must look pretty on the beach) and also a razor.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: sundresses are easy (one item and your dressed, saves space) some shorts, halter tops, bikinis, and sandals are a must. Don't forget the strapless bra and 1 or 2 dressy outfits.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: toothbrush, paste, conditioner, shampoo, sunglasses, hairdryer, and deoderant.

Photo Equipment: camera and at least 10 rolls of film

Miscellaneous: Don't spend your vacation in front of the mirror. Take along hair ties and clips. Put your hair up in not perfect upsweeps or braid just got out of the ocean hair and let out of braids when dry (hair will have sexy waves and lots of body)

    Miscellaneous: One last thing:
The cost of dry cleaning is laughable in Bahrain. If you can bring dirty washing - even though this sounds mad - do. It’ll be done within 24 hours for less than a pound sterling for each item.

Luggage and bags: I took one medium case on wheels and a smaller hand luggage bag and I still took to many clothes. Remember out there clothes dry overnight or in a couple of hours. I also had to buy another small case to bring home the clothes I had made while I was there.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Anything lightweight, loose and cool. Remember to take something to cover legs to knees and most of the upper arm when you go out. Make sur shoes are very comfortable. I lived in my flip flop sandals while there and only put on something smarter for evenings.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You can get anything you need there so don't load up with sun creams and stuff - get it there.

Photo Equipment: I was staying with a friend and didn't need anything special as the sockets in her house were that same as in the UK.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Only do it if you like sand in your pants and burrs all over. Seriously though, I didn't see many campers.

Miscellaneous: Sunglasses - a must. You will not need much out of the ordinary, Bahrain is a mixture of the very modern and the very old and everything can be found.

Luggage and bags: any luggage will do.... but travel as light as possible....

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: comfortable walking shoes. Clothing that keeps you cool, but protected from the hot sun.

Miscellaneous: Don't come in August, as I hear it is unbearably hot. Winter is probably better for people who don't like blast furnaces.

See map below for general overview.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: A big sun hat, baggy shorts & shirts, a light jacket for winter. You are best to bring your favourite item of clothing & buy some of the excellent material from the cloth souk & get it copied by one of the many excellent tailors, for a couple of dinars. A US dollar is about 0.377 Bahraini dinars.........

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: STRONG SUN CREAM
    All womens' 'toiletries' availible here!

Photo Equipment: Excellent photo shops with 15 minute developing. V cheap films, but quite expensive developing but you always get a free album & film with every development!

Miscellaneous: Don't even try to bring in videos as you will be searched at the airport & take about 2 hours to get in!!!!!!!!!!!
