Water Sports, Bahrain

While you won't find the wonderful scenic park runs available in most US cities, there is a decent little park and a few empty construction sites you can run through along the waterfront. You can get in an 8 mile run (4 each way) without having to cross any streets. Start at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and run along the waterfront to the Sail Bridge (towards the airport). Once over the Sail Bridge, turn around and head back.:-)

Heat is not a problem in the winter. In the summer, try to get out as early as possible. By 7am the temperature will already be in the 90's.

Drinking a ton of bottled water is a given.;-)

Renting a boat / yacht is big fun in Bahrain!
If you have the opportunity, go out for a day on the Gulf. The water is pretty shallow, even miles off the coast so that you often rather walk than swim. There are few places as tranquil as a boat :)

The Yacht Club in Manama offers also a nice terrace / bar to chill or celebrate afterwards.

Equipment: Taking a jet ski / wave runner with you would be smart...
