The Tree of Life is standing alone on middle of the desert still surviving, pretty big with several low braches. It looks too old, but the leaves still fresh green... believe it or not they said it is 500 years old tree.

The tree source of water remains mystery, some others believe that it gets nourishing from the underground but no one knows why this tree still surviving.

A message from mother nature

Imagine a big green tree in the middle of a barren desert, you can see it with your own eyes if you visit Bahrain. The tree is said to be 400 to 500 years old. Its long roots probably have found some underground water source, but it is still a miracle as it is the only green living organism available in that area. Reaching there is quite troublesome as you have to travel in the highway and then take some side roads. In any case, it is worth a visit to this beautiful tree and appreciate the strength of nature which can keep this tree alive for centuries. According to me, tree of life is a symbol of mother nature. We, mankind, do everything to damage the nature, but still it has the strength to keep alive even in a barren desert.

Located in the middle of the desert and quite hard to find, the Tree of Life, a 400 year old mesquite tree, stands alone. It is a mystery as to how it stays so green and alive in the waterless desert.

full of life

Is this why people of Bahrain ( ancient Dilmun ) are " eternally youthful ? "...why is it called Tree of Life ? somthing like fountain of youth ?

You cant really find the history of her existence but her mere presence in the area ( southern Bahrain ) where 2/3 of the land is mostly covered by desert , you find this big green tree which is so full of life ... a 400 year old mesquite tree. It is marvelously big, with several low branches extending out in various directions, just crying out to be climbed upon.

The source of its water is still a mystery ...dont miss it ..coz who knows maybe the aura of this tree is better than all the anti wrinkle creams you can find in the stores ....

Standing alone in the desert about 1.2 miles (two kilometers) from the Jebel Dukhan, this flourishing mystic tree provides welcome shade from the heat of the day, although its source of water remains a mystery.

Show respect for your elders

The tree of life is old. No one is sure how old but it is a least 800 years old. It is a type of creosote or mesquite type of tree. I am not quite sure which species it is but it is a revered reminder to the locals of their old culture and ancient history.

The Tree of Life is a single tree sitting in the middle of the desert. The tree is fed by an unknown source. It's a very beautiful site to see one of God's creations in a particular location. The tree is known to have been in its place for hundreds of years, and many experts can not figure out how a single tree has grown so large in such a desolate place.

Go visit the Tree of Life. It's a large, green, mesquite tree slap bang in the middle of a desert.

There are more pictures in the travelogue
It's been there for hundreds of years and is the only tree for miles. It's also the only tree ever to have been mentioned by name, in a film, by Steve Martin (the American comedian). If that helps.

The Tree of Life is a huge tree standing in the middle of the desert. It looks completely out of place because there is no other vegetation around. Nobody knows how the tree survives so it assumed to be a miracle.
It is just so odd looking, also a good excuse to go for a drive in the desert.
